The Residence Facilities team is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of McMaster’s residence buildings. They are responsible for garbage disposal, common area cleaning, bike storage, heating and cooling, work orders, and damages and room inventory.
The Residence Building Operations team develops and maintains a preventative maintenance program for student residence facilities designed to prevent equipment and facility breakdowns and disruption while prolonging the life of the building assets. Their goal is to maintain an aesthetically pleasing, clean and safe environment for residence students.
The Conference and Event Services department is responsible for working with campus partners to organize requirements such as accommodations, food and beverage, meeting space, audio-visual, and parking, for a variety of events that take place on campus.
Residence Life strives to create opportunities and support systems for students to allow them to learn new things and connect with other people and communities. They are responsible for ensuring students have the best first-year and residence experience.
The Education Initiatives and Assessment department works alongside the other Housing and Conference Services departments to ensure seamless program delivery to student staff and residence students. They are responsible for driving strategic process in the areas of student development, academic success, orientation, student leadership, and departmental assessment – ensuring that regular reviews of departmental processes are conducted and improvements are made.
Residence Admissions provides future students with important information about living on campus, starting with the application process, the various residence buildings and room types, meal plans, as well as any information about move-in day.
