Alumni Advancement supports the University through the involvement of alumni and current students and recognition of alumni achievements, while providing various services and benefits for alumni. They are responsible for maintaining alumni relations, as well as the annual giving program.
Development unit at McMaster formulates strategies, develops programs, and executes campaigns and initiatives as the primary area of the University responsible for raising private revenue for McMaster. The unit develops relationships with donors and funding partners in support of various research and educational goals. The department consists of various components such as: principal giving, major gifts, gift planning, donor relations, and stewardship.
Public and Government Relations oversees a variety of areas including: media relations, community relations, marketing and branding, internal communications, development communications, and issues management.
Stewardship and Donor Relations oversees the fostering of relationships with current and prospective University donors. The unit is responsible for the acceptance of gifts, various documentation and financial procedures, and donor acknowledgement and recognition.
Communications & Public Affairs is responsible for the following university activities: media relations, government relations/public affairs, marketing & branding, managing University reputation, issues management, internal communications, community/neighbor relations/President’s Advisory Committee on Community Relations and development communications.
