COVID-19 HR Payroll Update – Supervisor and Administrator Guide for Payroll Processing up to April 5, 2020

We wanted to share some key HR information with you related to Continuance of Pay that we hope will help you as supervisors and administrators answer questions and continue with planning in response to COVID-19.
We value our people and the important work they do. The scaling back of some operations at the University will be in place until at least April 5th, but this date could change based on any developments.
We realize that many employees are concerned about compensation arrangements at this time, particularly those who are unable to carry out their regular duties on campus. McMaster is committed to ensuring that all employees will continue to be compensated for the three-week period up to April 5, 2020.
This guideline document is intended to help you as supervisors and time administrators understand how the continuation of the various types of compensation arrangements will be managed by the University up to April 5, 2020; the three current approaches to work arrangements; and what actions you need to take to regarding payroll processing to support our employees. We therefore encourage you to read the document thoroughly, especially as there are a few key changes in process particularly for the pay period of March 22, 2020 to April 4, 2020 regarding time reporting and approval that it is important you are aware of.
