Description
When employees feel comfortable asking for help, informally sharing ideas, or challenging the status quo, organizations are more likely to quickly innovate and adapt to change. In this interactive and engaging session, participants will explore their role in creating a culture of psychological safety, including practical techniques for giving and receiving constructive feedback that promotes open dialogue and collaboration. A special emphasis is placed on the power of kindness, and how actively seeking out diverse perspectives can create a more innovative and inclusive work environment.
Structure
This free, one-hour, instructor-led online (Zoom) session combines lectures with a variety of engaging elements including case scenarios, group discussions, skill building activities, Q&A, and poll functionality.
- Characteristics of psychological safety and how it contributes to team success
- Case scenario: providing constructive feedback to enhance psychological safety
- Barriers and challenges to create psychological safety
- Discussion: can acts of kindness promote psychological safety
- Case scenario: what can you do during and after an interaction to build psychological safety

Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the characteristics of a psychologically safe workplace and why it matters
- Identify actions that build psychological safety within your team(s)
- Promote a culture of constructive feedback and supportive communication that enhances collaboration and innovation within their team
