McMaster will observe the National Day of Mourning on April 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Gilmour Hall Council Chambers.  

Threads of Life, Tara Scharama, will speak about how constant silica dust exposure caused her to contract Scleroderma causing permanent damage to 65% of her body and forcing her into early retirement.   

We encourage the McMaster community to pause, reflect, and remember workers killed or injured on the job and renew their commitment to ensuring a healthy and safe workplace for all.
