Retirement Planning Course
McMaster has partnered with Eckler Ltd. to offer you a retirement planning course that is geared to employees who are preparing for and transitioning into retirement.
This full-day course is designed to guide participants through the process of preparing and transitioning into retirement with confidence. The program will help you build a much clearer personal vision of retirement, determine how much you will need to achieve that vision, and show you where the money will come from to fund your lifestyle. Participants will receive a workbook and resources to help them take action with the information provided.
In this course you will learn:
- how to dramatically reduce your taxes
- the truth about RRSPs, RRIFs, and TFSAs
- government pension programs (OAS, CPP)
- how to build a retirement income
- how spending changes from working years to retirement years
- how to change the management of your investments
- how to plan your retirement lifestyle (what will you do once retired?)
- the importance of a financial plan
- who can help you through the process
This course will NOT cover information pertaining to your specific McMaster pension plan, McMaster group RRSP, or McMaster benefits. For additional workshops which cover McMaster-specific retirement readiness, please visit here.
The program is delivered by an accredited, independent, financial wellness expert that never promotes or sells any products or services. This program is open to all active McMaster University employees.
Program Cost: This program is funded by McMaster University. Parking fees are the responsibility of the participant (or their department). Cancellation fees apply (see below). Lunch is not included.
