Description
Everyday food choices can have an important impact on long-term health. This session will show participants how a healthy diet can make a difference and be one of their best defenses against cancer. They’ll learn about the real dietary risks and discover some antioxidant-rich foods.
Structure
A 1-hour instructor led training session that combines lecture elements with a variety of engaging elements like Q&A, group discussion, as well as polling and chat functionality when delivered virtually.
Objectives
At the end of this seminar, participants will be able to do the following
• Understand cancer risk and dietary factors
• Reduce the risk of cancer
• Plan a healthy diet
• Identify antioxidant-rich foods
Judy Chodirker is a graduate of the Master of Health Sciences (Community Nutrition)
program at the University of Toronto. She received her Bachelor degree in Food and
Nutrition from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) and then completed a
dietetic internship at North York General Hospital.
She has over 20 years of experience in clinical and community nutrition, as well as
health related marketing and project management. Her areas of expertise include eating
disorders, chronic disease and preventative health, women’s health and maternal, infant
and child nutrition.
Judy spent many years counseling and educating customers about healthy eating at
Loblaws and currently works as a dietitian consultant for a number of health
organizations. Judy looks forward to helping you in the quest to make healthy choices to
meet your wellness goals!
