This free webinar is offered by the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Healthy aging doesn’t begin at 65, it begins now. This webinar invites participants to see aging not as an end-stage, but as an ongoing, daily investment.
Together, we will challenge the discomfort around aging conversations and replace it with curiosity, purpose, and intention. Through a review of Canadian demographics, we’ll gain insights into who we are across generations and why these matters for the future of work and health. We’ll use the metaphor of a long-term investment portfolio, showing how small daily actions— behavioural “credits and debits”—compound over time to influence our aging trajectory. Drawing from Blue Zones research, we’ll identify lifestyle habits that promote health span, not just lifespan. We’ll also explore how shifting our mindset around stress can strengthen resilience.
Mindful practices such as connecting with your future self, focusing on meaningful experiences over material gains, and increasing awareness of workplace safety will be framed as critical tools in aging well.
By the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize aging as a lifelong process and understand the value of early investment in well-being.
- Explore why conversations about aging matter—personally, culturally, and organizationally.
- Interpret Canadian demographic trends to inform workplace and health planning.
- Apply the “health as a portfolio” mindset using daily behaviours as long-term investments.
- Identify strategies for healthy aging, including Blue Zone habits, mindset shifts, mindful practices, and injury prevention.
