February 2022: Mosaic Rapid Release

Goal: Launch the new ESS Payroll Tile and Dashboard (Part I)
What has changed:
On the Employee Self Service homepage, we have launched a new Dashboard which provides unified access to Pay, Banking, and Tax information. Clicking on the new ‘Payroll’ Tile opens the Dashboard and you will see all new dynamic Tiles which display value added information at a glance!
As we are so close to tax slip season, we are soft-launching this item, keeping access to the prior Review T4/T4A Slips and Opt In tiles open for a short while longer.
Goal: Support for our business partners in producing 2021 Tax Slip/Certificates
What has changed:
Each tax reporting season brings its own challenges and 2021 was no different.
A strong partnership between UTS and the business offices is always an integral part of tax reporting season!
Goal: Expansion of the HR Reporting Hub (Feb 2022)
What has changed:
Select Users will notice a new Health Reporting section has been added to the HR Reporting Hub.
The new folder contains two new reports, which will only be available to users with a targeted security Role.
Goal: Add fields to Manage Aid Applications screen
What has changed:
Data about the indigenous status of students which had been added to a table previously was not displayed anywhere on a Mosaic screen and could only be referenced by query. This data was added to the Manage Aid Applications screen.
Making this data more visible to Aid and Awards staff makes granting aid to this group of students much more efficient
Goal: Provide targeted messaging within Mosaic
What has changed:
The Finance team made great use of a little known feature in our Notifications in Mosaic which allows push notifications to be sent directly to specific individuals or Security Roles.
Finance users were sent a notification about the launch of the new Copy Voucher functionality. We thought this was a great way to get the word out!
Goal: Provide select business owners with access to update Support & Documentation
What has changed:
The Support & Documentation in Mosaic is maintained by the business. Previous to now, any updates requested had to route through the Portal team for action.
With this change, we are putting the ability to update the documentation in the hands of those responsible for maintaining it. Great efficiency!
Goal: Expansion of the HR Strategic Reporting Hub (Feb 2022)
What has changed:
We have added a new section to this navigation collection for back-office support of the newly launched eForms for Employee Changes.
5 new reports and a new ‘eForms – Employee Changes’ section have been added to the Navigation Collection.
Goal: Get set for 2021 Tax Reporting season with the latest Tax and Payroll releases available from our Vendor
What has changed:
2021 brought some additional challenges with very late informational and tax slip changes released from the Federal and Provincial governments. We opted to work on the individual critical releases from our Vendor rather than waiting for the larger Tax Update to be released.
Using Selective Adoption allowed us to provide the tested changes to production in a shorter timeframe. Being current to all prior Tax Updates was critical to our success on this!
