Nomination Criteria
This award is presented to a person or group from our McMaster community who has done an outstanding job of promoting health and safety in the workplace over and above their normal work duties. We understand that 2020 was a year like no other with unprecedented challenges for all of us. We would like to consider not only those who continued to work on site but also our remote workers as you submit your nominations. We know so much great work happened while working from home. The award winner will be revealed during the McMaster University’s celebration of Safety and Health Week (formally known as North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week) held May 2 – 8, 2022.
The annual health and safety award is awarded to a person or group who has consistently shown their commitment to health, safety and wellbeing by taking measures to eliminate hazards and reduce accidents in the workplace. The recipient has also actively promoted health and safety as a priority and shown innovative methods to enhance and implement new programs, procedures and/or initiatives within McMaster during the past year.
Eligibility: This award is open to all McMaster employees and students.
