July 2022: Mosaic Rapid Release

Goal: Expansion of HR Strategic Reporting Hub – Jul 2022
What has changed: Based on great feedback from end users, the HR Strategic Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency within Human Resources Services.
Anything else I Need to Know: A new report has been added to give the Human Resources team the ability to proactively audit step increase data for employee groups on a step-based wage grid.
Goal: Expansion of HR Reporting Hub – Jul 2022
What has Changed: Based on great feedback from our end users, the HR Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency for financial managers and administrators.
Anything Else I Need to Know: A new Special Premium Payment (SPP) report has been added to give Financial Managers and Administrators the ability to review active status SPP’s issued to CUPE Unit 1 (CP1) TA’s and CUPE Unit 2 (CP2) Sessional Faculty employees.
Goal: Improve the usability of the Financial Aid Student Summary Page
What has Changed: 1. Display short name for Permanent Disability field 2. Change default display for Tracking to “View All” 3. Add a link to the OSAP Tracking page.
Anything Else I Need to Know: These changes will save time for Government Aid Officers who use this screen to review OSAP cases every day.
Goal: Expense Types that are automatically Tax Exempt
What has Changed: The travel and expense module has been updated for specific expense types that are tax exempt to not calculate the tax instead of the user having to specifically choose an exempt status. This will prevent a lot of errors, ensure users are being reimbursed correctly and make sure our tax filings are correct.
Anything Else I Need to Know: The following expense types were updated with an exempt status and will calculate correctly automatically: GO Train/Bus, Gratuities (travel and non-travel), Meals per diem (foreign), Rent – no taxes, Gratuitous Accommodation, Membership dues no tax (Clinical PDA, PDA, MPDA, LPDA, General).
Goal: Bill 124 Updates for eForms
What has Changed: To help ensure compliance with the requirements of Bill 124, the Compensation Adjustment and Contract Extension eForms were updated to add information that will help identify the type of compensation increase being requested for employee groups in the moderation period.
Anything Else I Need to Know: A new mandatory field was added to the forms so users are now able to identify whether an increase is for a ‘Performance Increase’, an ‘Increase less than 1%’, or ‘Other – consulted with HR’ for scenarios where the increase is confirmed as acceptable by HR.
Goal: GT eForms Platform upgrade
What has Changed: HR and UTS are continuing to make regular enhancements to HR eForms, and on June 23 there was a significant technical upgrade to the eForms platform which contained several improvements, including optimizations to eForm search functionality
Anything Else I Need to Know: Some key changes include search results no longer being limited to 100 items, automated email notifications to ad hoc approvers entered into a new path in the approval workflow, and the ‘search’ button on eForms now returning users to the Search screen with search parameters saved. HR and UTS will continue to address feedback received from end users.
Goal: Maximize collaboration options on our new Jira Dashboards
What has Changed: Many mini-projects have several deliverables or unrelated steps, which may require different resources working concurrently. One way to be able to track overall progress is by linking individual Jira tickets to an Epic Story, which comes with several collaboration advantages.
Anything Else I Need to Know: Each ticket in the Epic: may be from a different Project, and may additionally be linked to a Sprint. Added bonus: the Epic Link (think short title) will be visible on each Jira ticket.
Another great idea from the McMaster community!
Goal: Choose Fiscal Period for payroll journal posting based on Pay Period End Date
What has changed: The fiscal period for payroll journals will now be based on pay period end date instead of based on the majority of the pay falling within a fiscal month. E.g.: the pay period Aug 21 – Sept 3 will now be recorded in September instead of August, as it would have previously.
Anything Else I Need to Know: This change will enable us to more accurately calculate payroll commitments and help us to close our fiscal months sooner.
Goal: Faster access to Award configuration for Aid and Awards staff
What has Changed: Added search fields ‘Project Number’, and ‘Description’ to search page for Item Type Criteria page
Anything Else I Need to Know: Now staff don’t have to look up the ItemType number of an award before searching for the configuration.
