Employee Well-Being: Redefining ‘Thriving’
Redefining thriving
Thrive is a week-long campaign focused on helping students, faculty and staff at McMaster explore their path to mental health. This year we want to consider reframing and redefining what it means to thrive. Often, as a new year begins, folks start thinking about goal setting, incorporating new habits or lifestyle changes. Challenge yourself to take a reflective and positive approach to crafting goals or intentions. Start by considering what has already brought you some measure of accomplishment recently. As you navigate different aspects of your mental well-being and explore your path to mental health, remember to think about your strengths and consider what you are already doing well. The Heathy Workplace Committee is pleased to partner with the Student Wellness Centre on Thrive Week 2021. See our full list of virtual activities and online resources listed below.

Photovoice Activity
Our physical (and virtual) environments have a large impact on our wellness in ways that we may or may not be aware of. We want to reflect and help understand the student, staff and faculty experience further during this year’s Thrive Week. To reflect on this, we are going to use an activity called photo-voice, to begin thinking more about the impact our surroundings have on our wellness. To learn more about this activity, visit our Thrive Week page. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win one of five available prizes!
