April 2021: Mosaic Rapid Release
Goal: Retire one portion of a custom process
What has changed?
One entire category of an automated process has recently been retired, so we have updated an App Engine to ensure the correct outcomes are achieved each time it is run.
We are also future-proofing this change to handle other instances in the same manner.
Goal: HR Combo Feed for Research
What has changed?
Going forward, when new New Projects having payroll charges associated with them are added in Finance, the sync which feeds valid chartfields to HR will now associate each Project with only one specific type of Fund Code (formerly both Internal and External types of Funds were associated with each new Project in the list of Valid Combo Codes).
For new Projects opened on or after April 15, users will notice that only the Combo Codes associated with the correct Fund code type will be available for selection from a Combo Codes search in HR. Work to clean up the existing set of Project-related Combo Codes in HR will be a follow-up effort.
Goal: Expansion of the HR Strategic Reporting Hub
What has changed?
Based on great feedback from end users, the HR Strategic Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency within Human Resources Services.
30 new reports and 3 new sections have been added to this popular Navigation Collection!

Goal: Expansion of the HR Administrative navigation collection
What has changed?
We have expanded and fine-tuned a navigation collection used by HR Services to assist them in doing their Mosaic work as efficiently as possible.
Based on feedback from Human Resources Services, we have provided direct links to several additional pages from a single Navigation Collection. A great time-saver in high volume times!
Goal: Provide a way to view a listing of Voucher Payments by Department and Supplier
What has changed?
A new query has been added to the Financial Reporting Hub as well as the MM workcentre that allows users to look up voucher payments information by department and can also be used to limit by specific suppliers. Voucher payments includes PO and non-PO vouchers and include MacBuy.
This query was based on feedback from many users requesting this information from AP and Procurement staff
Goal: Fix a long-standing pain point
What has changed?
One of the greatest benefits of implementing Image Updates on a regular basis are the bug fixes they include.
A small subset of employees was encountering a bug on an intermittent basis. The issue was resolved with the PUM37 Image Update!
Goal: Adopt the latest Visual Cobol technology
What has changed?
We have adopted the newest Visual Cobol compilation tool in Human Resources — a McMaster first! With our last Tools Upgrade, a new way of managing Cobol files during refreshes and upgrades became available to us.
We were able to use our Get Current migration steps for PUM37 as a way to test the new technology. Nice to be able to do two implementations for the (admin) price of one!
Goal: Apply Page and Field edits to the new Fluid Direct Deposit self-service page
What has changed?
Apply Page and Field edits to the new Fluid Direct Deposit self-service page
This was the first Fluid Page we configured with Page & Field in the Human Resources stream. It was a breeze!
Goal: PeopleSoft Image 37 Update for Human Resources
What has changed?
The third and final installment of the latest round of our Mosaic-wide Get Current updates!
Staying as current as possible with PeopleTools and Images greatly enhances our ability to adopt new functionality whenever we wish to.
