Goal: Automate notifying employees when their banking has been updated
What’s changed: Employees will now receive an automated email notification as well as an alert message within Mosaic whenever their banking record has been updated. In the past, HR resources would send emails manually for each request received.
Anything else I need to know: This saves time for HR Services in responding to change requests, as well as providing peace of mind for employees.
Goal: Expand the HR Reporting Hub – August 2024
What’s changed: Based on a request from our end users, the HR Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency for Accounts Receivable in handling tax slip reporting for the External Tuition Bursary process.
Anything else I need to know: A custom report has been developed to align with the streamlined External Tuition Bursary process launched earlier in 2024. This report is used to identify dependents who will receive a T4A for their Tuition disbursement.
Goal: Expand the HR Strategic Reporting Hub – August 2024
What’s changed: Based on great feedback from end users, eleven (11) new reports have been added, aimed at improving efficiency within Human Resources Services. As with all new updates on this navigation collection, the new entries have been integrated with Data Cookbook details!
Anything else I need to know: Six (6) reports have been added to support annual auditing of the External Tuition Bursary form approvals and pool calculation process. Four (4) reports have been added to support annual reporting of the Employment Equity Census. One (1) additional report has been added to support auditing and ad hoc reporting for the new CUPE Unit 1 TA Hire eForm.
Goal: Provide valid bank and branch data in HCM
What’s changed: We have populated the Bank and Branch tables in HR with data provided regularly by Payments Canada which will aid in validating Direct Deposit entries as they are keyed into the system.
Anything else I need to know: We enabled a feed from Campus Solutions to support this request from our partners in payroll.
Goal: Expand two navigation collections for the new TA Hire business process
What’s changed: Both the HR Reporting Hub and the HR Strategic Reporting Hub were expanded to include reporting elements for the new TA Hire process, supporting the reporting needs of faculty administrators, and HR Services!
Anything else I need to know: All new reports related to TA Hires have been outfitted with Data Cookbook integrations for a seamless user experience.
Goal: Introducing Drop Zones
What’s changed: We have made use of Drop Zones on one new and one updated Employee Self Service function in order to add user-friendly, McMaster-specific messaging right on delivered components – a Mosaic First!
Anything else I need to know: All new delivered pages in Mosaic are expected to be compatible with Drop Zones, and even better, when it comes time for the next update or upgrade, these drop zones act like simple configurations, not customizations!
Goal: Automate the level of access to select Self Service pages during pay processing
What’s changed: While certain pay processes are running, the ESS pages in question will be presented to users in Read Only mode and will automatically revert to Update Mode once the process is complete!
Anything else I need to know: A simple message box will display on screen when accessing the page to let the user know why their access may temporarily look and act differently.
Goal: Enhance maintenance work order automated email notifications
What’s changed: Email notifications now include additional status updates for work order requesters when steps are completed on a work order (WO), with additional details on priority status and days estimates!
Anything else I need to know: Emails are sent to both the requestor and the requested for employee when the status is changed from ‘open’ to ‘awaiting schedule’, or from ‘awaiting schedule’ to ‘scheduled’, and also when the WO is completed, improving transparency and reducing the need to email someone to find out when your work will get done!
