November is Canada Career Month, and we will be celebrating here at McMaster with a series of workshops to help you manage your career.
Managing your career is not an option these days – it’s a necessity, especially in a dynamic and changing workplace. Career management requires specific skills and activities applicable to all career-life stages. Simply put, you need to take a proactive approach by answering the following questions: Who am I? What do I want? and How do I get there? These insights will help you map the best route for the future.
Please join us for one, two or all three sessions to learn how knowing yourself is key to managing and building your career. Feel free to bring your lunch.
Session 1: Your career is an incredibly personal journey. Despite the evolving expectations that others may have of you, it is imperative to take a step back, focus on, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. In this introductory session, you will gain strong foundational knowledge of the concept of self-awareness, and how it can be used as a tool to self-motivate, make sound decisions, and gain insight into your personality, attitudes, and behaviours. Facilitator: Kyle Armstrong, Program Coordinator, Engagement & Wellness
