Thrive Week is truly a collaboration for all of the McMaster Community. Hosted by Human Resources Services, Student Wellness Centre, and McMaster Okanagan, with help from the McMaster Students Union and other colleagues, Thrive Week intends to give everyone at McMaster opportunities to improve their Mental Health and truly Thrive!
Join us for a comedy night from the comfort of your own home! This zoom session will feature a lineup of diverse comedians, including headliners Courtney Gilmour & Johnny Mostyn.
About Comic Sans:
Comic Sans is a comedy production company that believes in inclusivity and accessibility. They specialize in promoting the diverse, eclectic, intersectional voices of LGBTQ++, BIPOC, and feminist performers.
About Courtney Gilmour:
Courtney Gilmour is one of Canada’s most unique voices and sought after comedy talents, named by NOW Magazine as “one of the top 10 stage artists to watch”. She delivered a breakout performance at the 2017 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal by winning the Homegrown Comics Competition and filming a set for Kevin Hart’s LOL Network. Courtney’s victory at the 2017 Just For Laughs Homegrown was the first by a female comic in the 19 year history of the event. In 2018 she topped it with televised performances at CBC’s Winnipeg and Halifax comedy festivals, as well as a triumphant return to Montreal to tape a set for The Comedy Network at Just for Laughs.
About Johnny Mostyn:
An Irish transplant and recent permanent resident, Johnny Mostyn is celebrated as one of the most unique and original voices in Canada. Since moving to Canada, John has quickly established himself as one of the country’s top up and coming comedians, performing all over the country, and has appeared at JFL42, Cottage Comedy Festival, Toronto Sketchfest, Montreal Sketchfest and much more! He is also the creator of his hit podcast, Modern Life Is Rubbish.
