TMG Ways of Caring
Previously known as the TMG Day of Service, this initiative offers volunteer opportunities to the McMaster TMG community.
Through the TMG Ways of Caring initiative, we have the opportunity to align and operationalize McMaster’s mission statement by “valuing integrity, quality, inclusiveness and teamwork in everything we do. We serve the social, cultural, and economic needs of our community and our society.” The purpose of this initiative is to deepen the understanding of the McMaster community towards the complex issues facing Hamilton.
2020 marks the 7th year of the TMG Day of Service.
In a year like no other, some of the most vulnerable in our communities, as well as the organizations that support them, are finding it difficult to meet the basic needs of daily life. As TMG members, we can do our part to help the community, by offering our time and talents to lend a hand. Together we can make a difference!
The TMG Day of Service has been renamed this year, to the TMG Ways of Caring. To ensure we are abiding by health and safety guidance, the TMG Ways of Caring Working Group has partnered with local organizations to offer some great activities and suggestions for you to volunteer from a distance.
This year, instead of a one day event, the TMG Ways of Caring event will extend from November 13 – December 16, 2020. This timeline will give everyone the opportunity to volunteer in a way that works best for their own situation. You can choose to volunteer individually, work remotely with your team to help out together, or even enlist your family members to assist with some activities.
Visit the TMG Ways of Caring website for further information or to review the list of community organizations where help is needed. We hope you will find at least one activity that inspires you to volunteer.
We look forward to hearing about the experiences of TMG Members coming together to support our community.
