Goal: Retire Invalid Research Combo Codes from use in Mosaic HR (Phase 3)
What has changed: The third phase of a multi-step and multi-stream initiative to end the use of invalid Project-Fund combinations originally fed from Finance to HR has been completed.
Anything Else I Need to Know: Combo codes with invalid Fund + Project combinations will no longer be available for use in Additional Pay, Time Entry, eForms, or payline entry.
Goal: New Date Validation on Contract Extension eForm
What has changed: To ensure that the Contract Extension eForm is used appropriately, a new validation has been added to the New Expected Contract End Date field to make sure it’s less than or equal to the Current Expected Contract End Date.
Goal: New sort option for Work Orders to help technicians prioritize their work
What has changed: An additional sort option was added to the work order system based on “Scheduled start date”
Goal: Increase the granularity available for reporting on additional payments made to employees
What has changed: We have added one additional new category for use in our Mass loads to Additional Pay and to Paylines.
Anything Else I Need to Know: A new business need was identified which required added granularity for reporting on certain payment scenarios.
Goal: Provide a way to identify when employees who are members of Unifor, Local 5555 Unit 4 have completed their probationary period.
What has changed: Based on great feedback from end users, the HR Strategic Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency within Human Resources Services.
Anything Else I Need to Know: One (1) new report has been added to this popular navigation collection! This audit was created to fulfill a collective agreement requirement whereby full-time employees who are members of Unifor Unit 4 are to be enrolled in Group RRSP upon completion of the probationary period.
Goal: Make it easier to update contact email for OSAP payment file load
What has changed: Alerts created during the OSAP payment file load were going to a hard-coded email address. When a request for a change to the email address came through, we changed the code to use message catalog to hold the email address instead.
Anything Else I Need to Know: This change will enable the business users to change the email address themselves if business processes change.
Goal: New query needed for International Student Services – contact list
What has changed: New query was deployed to the Campus Center for use by International Student Services, giving them access to contact information for incoming students.
Goal: Reports for External Tuition Bursary are now in the HR Strategic Reporting Hub
What has changed: To clean up the External Tuition Bursary application page, the reports to support administration of the benefit have been moved to the HR Strategic Reporting Hub.
Goal: Support for our business partners in producing 2022 Tax Slip/Certificates
What has changed: Each tax reporting season brings a mixture of annual support requirements as well as the need to respond to any regulatory changes which may arise.
Anything Else I Need to Know: A strong partnership between UTS and the business offices is always an integral part of tax reporting season.
Goal: Restriction on Submitting Requests for Own Employee ID
What has changed: As an additional measure to ensure that Employee Change Requests are submitted by the appropriate users, a restriction has been implemented which prevents users from submitting eForms for their own Employee ID.
Anything Else I Need to Know: eForm approvers in HR Operations will no longer have to validate this manually.
Goal: Position Data Update eForm Workflow Updated for Trust Fund Approvers
What has changed: A known issue with the Position Data Update eForm approval workflow has now been resolved!
Anything Else I Need to Know: Forms that require approval from Trust Fund Administrators will now automatically route to the correct approvers for non-FHS departments. Previously, these eForms required manual reassignment.
Goal: Need Start/End dates for Visiting and Exchange students in Mosaic
What has changed: Created a Component Interface to import data from Slate into Mosaic, including Start and End dates for Visiting and Exchange students.
Goal: Improve the usefulness of the Athletics contact list query
What has changed: Updated the criteria so that the query can be used for athletes who transfer to McMaster after first year, as well as for first year students.
Goal: Automate a tedious manual process in Year End reporting
Why we love this: We replaced a time-consuming, highly manual process with a configurable automated solution.
Bonus: we were able to action this request quickly, using delivered technology!!
