Goal: Provide additional clarity on Contract Extension eForm process
What has changed: Improved instructions on the Employee Change Request eForms Landing Page to help users navigate the Contract Extension process when an employee is set to auto-terminate as of their contract end date.
Anything else I need to know: Users are provided with detailed information about how the auto-termination process works, important dates to note, and how to proactively avoid the auto-termination of employees whose contracts need to be extended.
Goal: Updates to HR Reporting Hub – May 2022
What has changed: Based on great feedback from our end users, the HR Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency for financial managers and administrators.
Anything else I need to know: Two custom reports for targeted client areas were created in order to support the biannual hire process for invigilators and programming administration for people leaders at McMaster. Further, the active combo code lookup query accessible in the HR eForms navigation path has now also been made available on the HR Reporting Hub.
Goal: Updates to Strategic Reporting Hub – May 2022
What has changed: Based on great feedback from end users, the HR Strategic Reporting Hub has been expanded to include new reports aimed at improving efficiency within Human Resources Services.
Anything else I need to know: As per the newly ratified Sessional Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement, a new audit report has been added to support the review of administering cancelled contracts.
Goal: Retire old versions of Pay and Tax Slip tiles in the Employee Self Service
What has changed: A follow up step to our launch of the *New* Payroll tile and Dashboard, was the removal of the original Pay and Tax slips tiles.
Anything else I need to know: Now that tax reporting season is over, we are removing the old tile links, prompting everyone to access their Pay, Tax, and Banking info from the dashboard! We love the new functionality!
Goal: Streamline ROE reporting with separate codes for Parental Leave
What has changed: Separate codes have been provided to identify when an employee is going on parental leave, as opposed to maternity leave. The use of these codes will automatically feed the correct information through to the Service Canada Record of Employment, and remove the need to manually update this file.
Anything I need to know: Team members in HR Operations should ensure that the new Action / Reason codes are selected when processing a parental leave request.
Goal: Open up our new Jira dashboards to users in CMPS, FMPS and HMPS
What has changed: Each dashboard provides: an efficient way to see what is assigned to you or others, a quick way to find a ticket you have created in any stream, and gives at-a-glance information on recent activity. Like what you see? Marking the Dashboard as a Favorite will make it accessible via the left navigation bar.
Anything I need to know: To get started: log into Jira, click on the Dashboard pulldown menu, select Manage Dashboards, then Search for your applicable Dashboard: ‘My CS Mosaic’, ‘My FS Mosaic’, or ‘My HR Mosaic’. It’s that easy!
