Goal: Update existing custom HR Interfaces to include the new Tax Classes launched in 2024
What has Changed: Two critical interfaces which supply payroll costing and encumbrance data to BI Dashboards, Hyperion, as well as to the Data Warehouse for FTE and Labor Distribution Reporting were updated to capture the new Tax Classes.
Anything Else I Need to Know: After the updates, we re-ran the interfaces for the first payrolls of the year in each stream to ensure they had correctly captured new tax class data. We timed the updates to ensure as seamless a transition as possible for our end users!
Goal: Update existing HR custom reports to include new Tax Classes launched in 2024
What has Changed: Three existing reports used by Financial Managers and Administrators were updated to capture the new Tax Classes as needed.
Anything Else I Need to Know: We identified three reports in HR which would need updating to capture the new tax information.
Goal: Update existing payroll Queries to include new Tax Classes launched in 2024 – Phase I
What has Changed: Three existing queries used in pay and GL processing were updated to capture the new Tax Classes as needed.
Anything Else I Need to Know: We identified these queries as needing to be included in the first round of updates.
Goal: Review all Reports, Queries and Interfaces for impacts of new Tax Classes
What has Changed: Two new Tax Classes were launched for 2024! A full review of impacts to existing interfaces, reports and queries was needed to determine any updates required, and prioritize the work.
Anything Else I Need to Know: The new tax classes will only be triggered once traditional CPP limits have been reached. We planned out a phased approach to deliver the updates identified.
Goal: Selectively Adopt two new components and one new Excel to CI to support a new reporting requirement
What has Changed: As of the 2023 tax year, the Canada Revenue Agency has given us one new reporting parameter to be included in T4 and T4A reporting.
Anything Else I Need to Know: We have implemented the new component, report and Excel to CI delivered from our Vendor!
Goal: Get set for payrolls in the New Year with the latest Tax Update available from our Vendor
What has Changed: The final tax update each year is targeted to getting the system ready for the first payrolls in the New Year. 51 Patches, 91 functions tested, along with another 36 separate validations, all within a very quick turnaround time.
Anything Else I Need to Know: Staying current with Tax Updates ahead of this change package is critical to our ability to efficiently implement the year end changes.
Goal: Enable additional users to access to an existing Payable Time report
What has Changed: We have expanded the existing security access for another report in the HR Strategic Reporting Hub to give additional users self-service access.
Anything Else I Need to Know: We love that we can easily adapt security access to reports and queries in Navigation Collections in response to changing business processes!
Goal: Automate assigning security access to maintain the List of Principal Investigators for reporting
What has Changed: After a change in personnel, the Office of Research Services requested some additional resources be allowed to make updates to the list of PIs to be included in ORS reporting. We suggested switching all folks who needed this access to be assigned dynamically based on their position, rather than one-off requests per ID.
Anything Else I Need to Know: Going forward, a change in personnel will be seamless for this access – much better for everyone involved!
