Employee Well-Being: Focus on Family
Focus on Family
We look to our families for love, support and enjoyment and we rely on our families when times are tough. Families shape us as we grow and they shape our society. It is important to recognize that “family” doesn’t always refer to people who are related by blood or genes or shared residency. We celebrate the idea that family is about the love, respect and the connections we share. It can be difficult to stay connected and show how much we appreciate one another during these trying times, but it remains vital to our own well-being and for the well-being of our families, extended families and communities.
We have a few resources this month that will assist with family connection, communication and appreciation:
COVID-19 has shown us how quickly infection can spread and the importance of keeping our loved ones safe. Infection Prevention and Control for Caregivers and Families is a free online, self-paced course that helps you acquire skills and knowledge for managing the prevention and control of infection.

For many, home may not be a supportive or even safe space. With the added stress of the pandemic, loss of work, balancing competing priorities and isolation, situations may become too much to manage. If you, or someone you know, need support dealing with mental health issues, substance use or abuse, please seek assistance.
