The Service Awards program celebrates McMaster University staff who have attained a service milestone of 10, 15, 20, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years of service. It’s a way to recognize and honour their dedication and contributions to the university community.

Staff who have contributed continuous service and whose benefit service date indicates they have attained 10, 15, 20, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years of service between July 1 and June 30 are eligible to attend the celebration taking place in the summer (typically June each year).

Eligible staff will receive an invitation to their McMaster email outlining the details of the celebration and requesting an RSVP.  Invitations are typically sent out in March each year.  All recipients are also listed on this Service Awards webpage under their service milestone year.

The event includes an afternoon of connection, conversation, and celebration, featuring:

• Remarks from the President in honour of your contributions
• Opportunities to connect and network with fellow honourees
• A delicious lunch prepared by McMaster’s award-winning culinary team; and
• A commemorative token of appreciation for your valued years of service

Yes.  During the registration process, our team will ask whether you have any food allergies, dietary restrictions or accessibility needs.  Please ensure you outline your needs on the registration form. You are also welcome to reach out to us at wellbeing@mcmaster.ca to discuss any required accommodations.

The current format if for recipients only.  Guests are not permitted.

During the registration process, our team will ask you whether you require a parking voucher to attend the celebration. If you would like us to provide you with a voucher, please let us know at the time of registration. The voucher will cover the cost of your parking during the celebration. In our confirmation and reminder messages, we will let you know which parking lots the vouchers are valid in. Visit this website for parking lot locations and directions.

Staff who have reached a service milestone between July 1 and June 30 will receive an invitation (typically) in March for a celebration that takes place (typically) in June each year.  If you did not receive an invitation, please email wellbeing@mcmaster.ca so we can connect with you personally.

As a reminder, eligible staff and faculty who reach 25 years of service during the calendar year will be acknowledged as part of the Quarter Century Club celebration. Typically, recipients receive a notification from Human Resources Services in the Fall each year.
