This 3-hour leadership course will equip participants with strategies to effectively lead both during and after transitioning to a hybrid workplace. The primary goal of the training is to assist leaders when it comes to building a psychologically safe workplace for their teams. This requires awareness of the impact of uncertainty and anxiety on team members, what hurdles and barriers may arise in a hybrid work environment, and the importance of communication and involvement of all throughout the transition process.
Leaders will enhance their understanding of the personal and environmental factors that can have an impact on employees’ mental health during times of change and uncertainty and gain valuable tips and tools for navigating a changing workplace in ways that promote psychological safety and well-being for all. The training will challenge leaders to adopt a growth and reintegration mindset and to lead by example and help team members develop a flexible way of thinking and approaching the novel circumstances that McMaster University, and the world at large, is facing.
With awareness that the needs of each employee are unique, leaders will learn to identify common warning signs that an employee may be struggling and the most appropriate intervention strategies from a leader’s perspective. The workshop will also offer insights into the benefits of maintaining a healthy work-life balance for both managers and employees, and how a ‘one size fits all’ approach is a way of the past.
This session is full but we have added an additional course on September 27, 2021. Learn more.
