Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a two day interactive course with a focus on adults with mental health problems. Practical skills are taught using a model that is easy to apply in real life settings. Previous experience dealing with mental health issues is not required.
Please note: These workshops are open to only current McMaster Staff and Faculty.
This MHFA training will help you to:
Recognize and understand the symptoms of mental health problems, including those related to substance use.
Provide help and support to prevent a mental health problem from developing into a more serious state.
Promote the recovery of good mental health by accommodating employees in distress or recovering from a crisis.
Become aware of McMaster and other community based resources.
