News to Use is a monthly summary of HR information for all employees of McMaster University
Benefit Year Ending June 30th – McMaster’s benefit year ends June 30, 2022. Eligible employees have until September 30, 2022, to submit any extended health and dental claims incurred during the period July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. Review your Group Benefits booklet and the Sun Life claims procedures for more details.
Years of Service Awards – The McMaster Service Awards recognizes employees who have reached a significant milestone with the university. Please visit the Service Awards webpage to learn more and congratulate our Service Awards recipients on our kudo board.
Ontario Election – The 2022 Ontario provincial election will be held on June 2nd, 2022. Under the Ontario Elections Act, employees are eligible for time off to vote at the election and are encouraged to discuss their respective plans with supervisors to receive time off to vote. Visit the Elections Ontario webpage for more information on voting and voting locations.
Register Now: H.E.A.A.R.T Workshop Series – The H.E.A.A.R.T Workshop Series provides a Human Rights, Equity, Accessibility, Anti-Racism Toolkit through a variety of online sessions being offered this summer through the Office of Equity and Inclusion.
