The Importance of Community
Regardless of whether you are working onsite or remotely, September is one of the busiest and most exciting times of the year for the McMaster community. The vibrancy and enthusiasm can be felt through campus, and a level of excitement can be sensed amongst our faculty, staff, and students. It is at times like this that we all become very aware of the importance of community, and the key role we can all play in coming together during challenging times.
When faced with great uncertainty and challenging times, community matters more than ever. Research shows that in times of change and transition, the stronger the sense of connection is, the more resilient the community is. Quite simply, we are stronger together. Coming together, engaging with others, and taking much needed breaks are an integral part of maintaining resilience and preventing burnout.
It is for these reasons that we hope you take time to participate in our upcoming Community Engagement initiatives. As the fall semester moves on, the number of digital opportunities to come together will continue to grow. We look forward to seeing the McMaster community come together to partake in some very familiar initiatives, that have a unique and interesting twist.
