How do I…
- Log in to Mosaic?
- Sign up for my required Health and Safety training?
- Find my classroom? Refer to the master course timetable in Mosaic under “faculty centre.” The Registrar’s website offers a guide to understanding the master course timetable.
- Address capacity or access concerns with my classroom? Contact your Department/Program Administrator and refer to section 2 of the Sessional Faculty notes.
- Find out what my sessional dates and deadlines are?
- Manage my undergraduate course, including exam blackouts?
- Find general academic regulations?
- Respond if there is a campus-wide lockdown?
- Contact Security Services if there is an immediate safety concern?
- Use McMaster’s online learning management system, Avenue to Learn? Learn how to use Avenue to Learn? McMaster’s wiki has a “Get Started” guide about Avenue to Learn.
- Activate a course shell in Avenue to Learn?
- Order textbooks and course materials?
- Respond to requests about missed assignments? First check with your Department/Program Administrator. Then refer to the McMaster Student Absence Form.
- Manage teaching assistants (TA’s)? See resources in the section to the side entitled “Supervising TA’s.”
- Ensure my classroom is accessible to students?
- Book an additional room for course purposes such as a review session or mid-term exam? Contact your Department/Program Administrator.
- Report a complaint of academic dishonesty? If academic or research dishonesty is suspected you should consult with your Department Chair or Faculty member. You can also refer to resources from the Office of Academic Integrity.
- Get my scantron exam results scanned?
- Handle requests for work after I submit final grades? If you agree to perform the work requested you will be paid an hourly rate commensurate with that for Hourly-Rated Sessional Music Faculty. As at May 1, 2015, this rate is: $61.00/hour.
- Know if there’s a snow day or other class cancellation? Refer to McMaster’s snow closure policy.
- Inform my students when I must cancel a class? Contact your Department/Program Administrator and refer to section 2 of the sessional faculty notes.
