Total Rewards for Clinical Faculty

Clinical faculty are full time faculty members and academic physicians, with a dual appointment at McMaster University and one of our clinical partners.


The following benefit plan changes will be implemented. Benefit booklets will be updated shortly to reflect the below coverage changes.

Effective July 1st, 2022:

  • Mental Health: Licensed psychoanalysts, registered clinical counsellors and licensed marriage and family therapists have been added as eligible providers to the existing $3,000 per benefit year maximum.
  • Christian Science Practitioner: No longer eligible under the benefit plan.
  • Vision Care: Maximum increased from $400 to $500 per person every 24 months.

Effective July 1st, 2023:

  • Paramedical Practitioners: $500 benefit year maximum per practitioner is to be replaced with a $2,000 per benefit year combined maximum for all eligible paramedical practitioners.

Effective July 1st, 2023:

  • Paramedical Practitioners: $2,000 per benefit year combined maximum increased to $3,000 per benefit year combined maximum.
